Himayat Inayati, M.S., ThD., founded the first Sufi Order Center in Florida in Miami, August 1975, leading the Dances of Universal Peace at the Temple of Yoga in Coconut Grove – also, in Tampa and Naples, West Palm Beach, and Gainesville on a regular basis 1975-1976. He was international head of The Sufi Healng Order for twenty years . Himayat created The Raphaelite Work, and is the founding president of Universal Awakening (www.universal-awakening,org). His wife Shahida & he co-lead Light of the Mountains Retreat Center in nearby Asheville, North Carolina. He brings the tradition of Sufism to address contemporary concerns. Presently he serves as headmaster at Odyssey Community School (odysseycommunity.org) and was appointed by Pir Shabda Kahn to facilitate the Sufi Education Concentration membered by Ruhaniat & SOI educators of children.
